Who is behind Incentiva.pt

Incentiva.pt is led by its founder, who follows each project in person: the eligibility analysis, the application and the follow-up after approval. There is no call centre and no account manager passing your file from hand to hand.

It grew out of work on investment and hiring projects in small and medium-sized companies that needed public support but had neither the time nor the staff to live in the world of calls, regulations and portals. When a project needs skills we do not have in house, such as engineering, a specific tax question or a certification, we bring in a specialist partner and remain your single point of contact.

We are independent. We have no institutional relationship with Portugal 2030, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, IEFP or any managing authority, and we do not represent them. That independence is why we can tell you that a programme is not worth your time.

How we like to work

• Plain language. Portuguese funding rules are written for specialists, in Portuguese. We turn them into a decision you can take: go ahead, adjust the project, or do not apply.
• Honesty before hope. We would rather tell you it is not worth it than sell you an application with no chance. The application fee depends on approval, so we have no reason to file a weak case.
• Grant, loan or tax credit. Much of what is advertised in English as a grant in Portugal is in fact a loan or a tax credit. We always say which is which.
• Risks on the table from day one. We tell you early where the weak points of the project are and what the company commits to if the application is approved: keeping the jobs, keeping the assets, proving every expense.
• We stay after approval. Payment claims, audits and requests for clarification are where approved projects lose money. We help through that phase too.

Who we work with

Small and medium-sized companies, including companies owned by people or groups from outside Portugal: founders who moved here and opened a business, foreign companies setting up a Portuguese subsidiary, and investors buying an existing farm, guesthouse or factory with a plan to invest in it.
